About Summer Reading

Dear Middle School Families,

Summer is just around the corner, and with its arrival comes the opportunity to plan for great vacation reading. Our goal is to nurture a life-long love of reading, and we hope that you will promote reading on a regular basis during the summer months.

Students are not limited to this list!

This list of suggested titles is meant to spur ideas about what books your child may enjoy this summer; please feel free to explore the sixth grade summer reading list, your local library, bookstore, and home library for other books your child might like to read.

Although we understand that children and often parents look for specific guidelines as to the number of books which are required to be read, we believe that reading thirty minutes each day is the goal. Of course, the pleasure one gets from reading a good book is our ultimate goal!

Have a great summer!
