About Summer Reading

Dear Middle School Families,

Summer is just around the corner, and with its arrival comes the opportunity to plan for great vacation reading. Our goal is to nurture a life-long love of reading, and we hope that you will promote reading on a regular basis during the summer months.

The list of suggested titles is meant to spur ideas about what books your child may enjoy this summer; please feel free to explore the "Other Lists to Check Out" web links for additional reading suggestions for all types of books, including graphic novels and nonfiction titles. Many of these books can be found at your local library and bookstore.

Although we understand that children and often parents look for specific guidelines as to the number of books which are required to be read, we believe that reading regularly is the main objective. Research shows that access to books, student choice, and parent support are key components to a successful summer reading experience.

*Use the tabs above to navigate to the suggested summer reading list.

Have a great summer!
