About Summer Reading

Dear Middle School Families,

Summer is just around the corner, and with its arrival comes the opportunity to plan for great vacation reading. Our goal is to nurture a life-long love of reading, and we hope that you will promote reading on a regular basis during the summer months.

Your child's summmer reading choices are not limited to this book list.

This list of suggested titles is meant to spur ideas about books and genres your child may enjoy this summer; please feel free to explore the sixth grade summer reading list, your local library, bookstore, and home library for other book choices.

Although we understand that children and often parents look for specific guidelines as to the number of books which are required to be read, we believe that reading thirty minutes each day is the main objective. Of course, the pleasure one gets from reading a good book is our ultimate goal!

Use the tabs above to navigate to the list.

For more recommended titles visit the "Other Lists to Check Out" which highlight the top books for the past year.

Have a great summer!

Middle School Teachers, Mrs. Geraty, and Ms. Keller
